I want to thank Kory Kath, the DFL candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives, for inviting me to participate in a health care forum at the Owatonna Public Library today. The forum – with several distinguished local speakers and great questions and comments from the audience – was engaging and enlightening.
I also had the chance to tour the Owatonna Hospital with representatives from SEIU and to see the new hospital facility which is currently under construction. The partnership and collaboration between Mayo’s Owatonna Clinic and the Allina hospital will be very important and interesting to watch as we consider the future direction of health care reform and service delivery in Minnesota. I applaud the two systems’ willingness to proceed.
